Performance Management…
Authentic Leadership in Practice

Presenter: Natasha Reger
Format:
Workshop

Duration: 3 hrs or as part of an on-going, long-term HR plan.

Description:

What gets measured get done! Measuring employee, team, department and even organizational performance is difficult to do well.

  • Do your employees clearly understand your expectations and what they are being evaluated on?
  • Do your employees understand how they are doing compared to their goals?
  • Do your employees have measurable goals that reflect your company strategy?
  • Do all of your employees understand your company goals and how they can support them?

The Performance Management System will provide you with the tools necessary to work more effectively with your employees in reaching the overall company goals and mission.

Through the Performance Management System you will develop a solid basis of communication between you (the manager/supervisor) and your employees in order to assist them in understanding their roles and their accountability in meeting overall company goals. Employees must know what is expected of them in meeting overall business strategies.

The Performance Management System will assist you in transforming the “traditional” performance evaluation – in which employee appraisals are often a rushed, tedious, once-a-year “task” – into an ongoing performance management process that ties employee performance to bottom-line business performance. It will provide you with the tools to provide meaningful formal and informal appraisals year-round thereby supporting on-going coaching and development to improve employee productivity.

Through using this system the employee will gain a solid understanding of the expectations of the manager/supervisor, the priority of those expectations and the authority to which the staff member has the freedom to act independently.
Most important, both managers and employees must be engaged in the performance process… moving from "how did we do last year" to a “what are we going to accomplish this year” mindset.
