Effective Feedback…
Authentic Leadership in Practice
Presenter: Natasha Reger
Format: Workshop
Duration: 1 ½ hrs – 2 hrs
Description:
Retaining key self-motivated employees is critical to the success of your organization. These are the people ultimately responsible for achieving your organizational goals.
Employees today want far more than a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work. They want to work in a place where they are respected, valued and appreciated. They don’t want to hear, at performance evaluation time once a year, how they are doing. People want to make a contribution, not just perform chores. Providing feedback on a consistent basis, formally and informally, is the most effective way that authentic leaders build the trust and accountability necessary to achieve this.
Leaders often find it difficult to deliver appropriate, useful feedback that will assist employees in their development. Too often employees find that they are guessing at what they are doing right and hearing only about what they are doing wrong – usually well after the fact. This workshop is designed for leaders who want to develop or improve their feedback skills in order to be more successful in guiding, coaching, and directing employee performance.
This practical, interactive session will build on the keynote “The Authentic Leader” presented by David Irvine and will provide you with the tools to:
- Create an environment that fosters self-improvement and better morale
- Avoid the common mistakes team leaders make when giving feedback
- Explore how different communication styles impact how you give and receive feedback
- Encourage the cooperation of both co-workers and employees
